Deeper dive: how we address risk

Morrow acknowledges that the battery industry is susceptible to risk. Known potential adverse impacts include environmental destruction, unsafe working conditions and instances of child labour. This calls for a robust sustainability risk management framework.

Morrow acknowledges that the battery industry is susceptible to risk. Known potential adverse impacts include environmental destruction, unsafe working conditions and instances of child labour. This calls for a robust sustainability risk management framework. Morrow is also legally required by the Norwegian Transparency Act to manage risks in its supply chain. This includes risks related to human rights and decent working conditions, and the act requires that the company report publicly on these issues on an annual basis.

Morrow comprehensively screens all potential suppliers and we perform on-site visits to all our direct battery material suppliers. Social and environmental standards have been checked and deemed to be at satisfactory levels. Moving forward we will be selecting the most risk-prone sub-suppliers for further analysis and, when needed, undertake on-site visits.

Further insights into our supply chain due diligence work are outlined in our Transparency Act Report. Please also read our Mineral Policy as well as our Human Rights and Decent Work Policy to get an understanding of the key principles that guide our work. We also make our Supplier and Subcontractor Declaration available to the public.
