The MCF construction project has been managed according to the environmental standard BREEAM-NOR (certification level ‘Very Good’). The BREEAM standard facilitates robust management of potential environmental challenges and mandates the use of ecological surveys and nature conservation planning. BREEAM-NOR will continue to be used in construction of the next factory, Eyde 1, and the nature conservation planning and associated measures will be continued and expanded.

The MCF is situated at a plot of land that was developed as part of the construction activities for a major new high way construction in the Arendal region.
